'Pelmanism' is a series of photographs from my smartphone camera roll, taken between 2018 and 2025. These were selected purely for their quotidien qualities - just pleasing things I wanted to photograph. A couple of them are even photos of a TV screen or magazine page - not even places I have ever been. I have curated these according only to formal elements within the images: composition, shape, form, colour and so on. These naturally seemed to form pairs. This playful pairing process reminded me of the memory card game 'Pelmanism', that I used to play with my Grandma.
